My best review ever!

I made a pair of polkadot teapot earrings and teashop bookshelf necklace for author Lindsay Avalon recently.  I custom made the bookshelf to be the same colour as the earrings, which I thought was a very sweet idea!  I'm very happy to say Lindsay loved her order and gave me a great review on her blog!  She said some very sweet things and I was so happy to read it.  I wanted to share it here because it made me so happy!

She writes paranormal romance books, and her novel Breaking the Nexus will be coming out soon - in the meantime she has been posting excerpts and other tidbits on her blog to keep us in suspense!  She also has a webpage here which logs the progress on her projects:

Make a felt Peter Pan collar

This is such a great idea for those of us still getting used to the sewing machine.  I was browsing through videos on Youtube showing how to make your own collar to add to shirts, and I found this very cute one, which uses felt, a ribbon and a cute button.  I think when I'm back home this will have to be my next project!  I bet you can get quite creative with the colours, materials and buttons....

Coryographies in Texas!

Coryographies is happy to announce that bookshelf necklace are now on sale in a great community book store in Houston, Texas!  Katy Budget Books looks like a used book lover's heaven.  I love getting lost in used bookstores, and never exit empty handed... if I ever get a chance to visit Texas, this place is number one on my list!

Visit the website at http://www.katybooks.com/, or visit yourself if you're in the area... and tell me how it is, since I'm half way around the world and want to go myself!!

Here is a video showing the bookstore - doesn't it look sweet?  And it's huge!  Although they do say everything's bigger in Texas...

Property Porn

Does anyone else search for their dream house recreationally?  It's incredible fun... pop in a few search words in an area you like, and see what lovely houses come up!  England is the perfect place for beautiful houses, especially if you like darling thatch cottages with beams and massive fireplaces and adorable names like "Buttercombe Cottage" and "The Cider Mill".  I actually came across a cottage called Pooh Corner!

Pretty in Devon

...this one on the left for example is nice!

Try it out for yourself - on a sleepy Sunday afternoon (noting it's Tuesday here *cough*) grab yourself a tea and have a look through some pretty areas you'd like to live in - my favourite search spots are the Dorset coast, and North Yorkshire.  Although I'm thinking I should pay a bit more attention to Wales...

Nothing wrong with this one in Dorset!
I generally use Zoopla.co.uk, but there's Rightmove and many more...  Is this anyone else's pastime?  What type of houses do you look for, and where?

Peaceful in the Isle of Skye!

The great white north, America's hat, the motherland, Canadia!

I'm off to the motherland today, taking an incredibly long journey by bus, plane, metro, another bus, a ferry and then a car, to visit my family and brand new niece in Canada.  I'm very excited and can't wait to hold a sweet little baby!

I'll be leaving my Etsy shop open in the meantime, and like I did when I was gone this summer, I'm offering a 15% discount to anyone who purchases from me while I'm gone (between September 10th-30th)!

That Etsy shop address is of course -----> www.coryographies.etsy.com

This worked really well for me last time and I came home to a big long list of things to make for lovely people :)  I hope to do it again!

I'm making my little niece a baby blanket - I thought I'd share the videos with you here if anyone wants to crochet along!  Mine is pastel yellow and green, with a pink trim.  It's a really fun pattern and different from anything I've tried before... and really easy for this beginner:

Interesting Placemats!

Since I'm all moving into a new place with my husband, we've been decorating it up a bit and getting a few new household items!  One of those items we're looking for, but had quite a hard time settling on, was a set of nice placemats.  Naturally I turned to Etsy and was charmed to find these cute ones!
So sweet!!  Would I ever use these grass and flower placemats from SassyAlice?  NO, but they're cute and hilarious!

These pebble placemats from BritsBitsandBobs are very pretty and beachy :)

A little bit more practical, these burlap placemats from ruffleddaisy are rustic and pretty.

I thought these placemats from avrilloreti made out of paint chips was a great colourful idea!
So I ended up not getting any of these, and we settled on some plain acacia wooden ones.  Not as quirky as these perhaps...

New Item! ...sort of?

I've introduced a gift certificate option in my Etsy shop for people wanting to purchase a bookshelf necklace for someone, but not knowing what design they would like!  You can purchase it from my shop, where I will then message you a special code which you can gift to your friend (along with an address to my shop, which would be a good idea ;)).  They can then message me quoting the code, and which necklace they would like!

Check out my Paint skills with the gift certificate's picture:

I know, I know, I should go into graphic design.
